Charmaine gray

My love for animals started when I was very young. My mother taught me about nurturing and caring for animals of all kinds, as she took in the many strays that happened across our yard.  I can recall many nights sleeping with kittens surrounding me, even sleeping on my head. We always had dogs too, German Shepherds mostly, but other breeds as well. There was no question about it, these furry beings were family. We loved them wholeheartedly, and when they were gone, each left pawprints on our hearts. Through the years I had lots of experience with a myriad of cameras.  At home, I took endless photos of our furry family members.

My love of pets and love of photography evolved organically from a hobby into a profession. As the official photographer for Southern California dog surfing competitions, I am trusted by major organizations to cover events that garner international attention. You’ll find more on my Clients page.

I have 2 dogs of my own. A German Shepherd, and Border Collie/Cattle Dog blend.  We have a special bond and they are  my world.

Every session brings me joy beyond measure and I form a connection with my clients and their animals. Because I know you love your pets in the same way I love mine, I work tirelessly to ensure your special moments and your pets unique personality are documented and presented beautifully, to preserve that joy for a lifetime.

I believe my mother, whom I lost in 2013, would be proud and delighted that I’ve made a career from the values and passions she instilled in me.

I love to support organizations that promote animal welfare and I donate my time and services to select non-profit and charitable organizations regularly.

Your photographic experience with me will be fueled by my love of all animals and of stunning imagery, and the final pieces will be works of art from the heart.
